

To everyone who selected this weekend’s biggest newcomer… here comes the heartbreak. I personally don’t believe that Karate Kid: Legends (17 players) will do as poorly as projected, but opening to $16M would be a crane kick to the face. We (myself included) can kiss a Perfect 10 goodbye. Even 3,800+ theaters won’t help against brutal reviews such as this one from New York Magazine/Vulture:
“I can’t imagine anyone remembering Karate Kid: Legends four decades from now. Or next week.”
Ouch.
